Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) Conservation Tariff Adjustment Notice
July 2024 – June 2026
The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has announced a revision of the Conservation Tariffs for all national parks, reserves, and protected areas, effective from July 1, 2024, and valid through June 30, 2026.
These adjustments are designed to support wildlife conservation initiatives, maintain park infrastructure, and improve visitor experiences, in line with UWA’s commitment to promoting sustainable tourism and protecting biodiversity.
Key Changes in Tariffs:
- Park Entry Fees:
- Ugandan Citizens: UGX [25000/-]
- Foreign Residents: USD [$35USD]
- Foreign Non-Residents: USD [$45USD]
- Gorilla and Chimpanzee Permits:
- Gorilla Tracking Permit: USD [$800 Usd]
- Chimpanzee Tracking Permit: USD [$250 Usd]
- Camping and Accommodation:
- Public Campsites: UGX [40000]
- Special Campsites: USD [$40]
- UWA Lodges: Rates available upon request
- Vehicle and Aircraft Fees:
- Vehicle Entry (Private): UGX [40000]
- Aircraft Landing Fees (Per Landing): USD [$40]
- Activity Fees:
- Guided Nature Walks: UGX/USD [$20 ]
- Sport Fishing: UGX/USD [$20]
- Hot Air Balloon Safari: USD [$100]
- Research and Filming Permits:
- Research AND Filming Permits Inquired from UWA for the rates of the activity. and its normally charged 40%
Conservation Efforts
The funds generated from these tariffs will directly support UWA’s conservation programs, including anti-poaching initiatives, wildlife monitoring, habitat restoration, and community outreach programs aimed at ensuring that Uganda’s biodiversity thrives for generations to come.
