CTC Conservation Center – Guided Tours & Booking Information.
The CTC Conservation Center, established in 2015, is a privately owned wildlife conservation facility located in Lukalu village, Butambala District, approximately 36 kilometers from Kampala along Masaka Road. It serves as a premier destination for eco-tourism, conservation education, and the preservation of Uganda’s wildlife.
We are open every day at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM for guided tours, strictly by appointment.
Important Update on Visiting & Rates
We are not yet fully open, as we are still developing essential infrastructure such as cottages and dining facilities. However, due to high demand, we are allowing limited visits on an appointment-only basis. Below are the current tour options and rates. Please note that we currently have a standard rate for all visitors, and a citizen rate will be introduced once we fully open.
- Minimum group size: 2 people
- Maximum group size: 12 people
- Exchange rate: UGX 3,800 per USD (subject to current forex rates)
Tour Options & Prices
Option 1: Basic Tour (Approx. 2.5 Hours) – $100/adult | $70/child (5-15 years)
Includes interactions with young lion cubs (3-6 months old), zebras, impalas, chameleons, bat-eared foxes, tortoises, baby crocodiles, snakes, and more.
- Minimum age for lion cubs: 5 years
- No age restriction for other animals
Option 2: Complete Full Tour (Approx. 3 – 3.5 Hours) – $130/adult | $95/child (5-15 years)
Includes everything in Option 1, plus interactions with Madagascar lemurs (black and white ruffed lemurs & ring-tailed lemurs, also known as “King Julian” from Madagascar).
Option 3: Lions Only (1 Hour) – $80/adult | $60/child (5-15 years)
Spend one hour exclusively with the lion cubs (3-6 months old). No other animals included in this package.
- Minimum age for lion cubs: 5 years
Option 4: Lemurs of Madagascar (1 Hour) – $45/person
Spend time with our lemurs, feed them their favorite treats, and take unlimited photos as they climb on your shoulders and play around. No age restrictions.
- This package is only for lemurs; no other animals included.
Children & Toddler Pricing:
- Adults: 16 years and above
- Children: 5-15 years
- Toddlers (below 5 years): $35 for Options 1, 2, and 4 (lion interaction not guaranteed unless pre-approved)
Animals You Can See at CTC Conservation Center
Our facility is home to a variety of wildlife, many of which roam freely in fenced areas. Some of the species you may encounter include:
Lions, spotted & striped hyenas, African painted dogs, jackals, serval cats, caracal cats, African golden cats, palm civets, crocodiles, warthogs, zebras (Lake Mburo & Kidepo maneless), impalas, waterbucks, Uganda kob, tortoises, iguanas, chameleons, snakes, bush babies, lemurs, and more.
