Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe airport and drive To Kibale Forest National Park to start your 5 days exciting Gorilla and Chimps trekking in Uganda safari.
Our company representative/driver will greet you at the airport in the morning and provide a comprehensive briefing on the 5 days exciting gorilla and chimpanzee trekking in Uganda safari that awaits you. Day 2: Embark on a thrilling journey into the heart of Kibale National Park, where you’ll have the opportunity to track over 12 different species of the primates, including the playful and intelligent chimpanzees
After enjoying a delicious breakfast in the morning, we’ll gather at Kanyankyu River Camp at 8:00 AM to embark on the most popular activity in Kibale Forest National Park: chimpanzee tracking. As our closest relatives, these intelligent primates are a highlight of any African safari, but they’re also among the most endangered species in the world. Along the way, we’ll have the opportunity to spot a variety of other primates, including black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, grey-checked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys and bush babies, as well as mammals like forest elephants, bush pigs, civets, and giant forest hogs. Bird enthusiasts will also have plenty to marvel at, with species like the yellow-spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, little greenbul, crowned eagle, and black bee-eater.
We’ll pause for a picnic lunch en route before continuing our adventure in the afternoon with a walk through Bigodi Swamp. This tranquil oasis is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including a variety of bird species and primates like the red colobus monkey and grey-cheeked mangabey.

Day 3: Drive to Travelers Rest Kisoro near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park, via Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After early morning breakfast, we will leave for Kisoro. We will cross Kazinga Channel, traveling through Queen Elizabeth National Park, and reach Kabale in time for lunch. From Kabale we will continue through the beautiful landscape also defined as the “Switzerland of Africa” engrossed with mountains, lakes, cultivated terraces, tropical rainforest and bamboo forest. On the last hill the landscape unfolds beneath us, taking in the vast planes between Uganda, Rwanda and Congo, with the Virunga volcanoes dominating the view. At the bottom of the valley is Kisoro, where we will stay at the famous Travelers Rest Hotel. In the sixties the famous American gorilla-woman Dian Fossey visited the Travelers Rest Hotel many, many times to do paperwork, relax or meet people. Fossey said about the hotel: “It was my second home”. Travelers Rest Hotel is just outside Kisoro and offers a cozy stay for the tourists coming to see the endangered mountain gorilla. The hotel was built in a somewhat colonial architectural design style, and is entirely renovated with a comfortable ambiance. Driving time is 8 hours.

Begin your day with an early morning breakfast before embarking on a scenic car ride from Travelers Rest Hotel in Kisoro to Nkuringo, the southern headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park (approximately 1hr). Here, you’ll receive a briefing from the forest rangers and porters before setting off on your gorilla trekking adventure at 8:30am.
Led by experienced guides, you’ll trek through the dense, mountainous forest, and search for the majestic gorillas. Once you’ve found them, you’ll be able to spend up to one hour observing their natural behavior, taking photos, and marveling at their sheer size and strength. The trek can last anywhere from 2-8 hours, so be sure to bring comfortable shoes and prepare for the varying terrain.
After your gorilla trekking adventure, enjoy a hardy lunch en route before heading back to your lodge for dinner and overnight. On the way back to the city you will have lunch in Mbarara town, and then move on to Masaka where you will have a stopover at the Equator for photo shoots, buying souvenirs and having some tea or coffee if needed.
