A 1 day Lake Mburo tour takes you to Lake Mburo National Park  the nearest wildlife national park from Kampala main Capital city of Uganda, located between Masaka and Mbarara districts, the park that is found in the south western part of Uganda was gazetted in 1982 and is the smallest national park in Uganda with 100 square miles and covered in extensive acacia woodland, Lake Mburo National Park has markedly different fauna to other reserves and is the best place in the country to see the gigantic eland antelope, Giraffes as well as zebra, topi, impala, and several acacia-associated birds. Lake Mburo National Park lies in the rain shadow between Lake Victoria and Rwenzori mountains, and receives an average of 800mm of rain a year. Being near the equator, the rainfall pattern is bimodal, with the long rains occurring from February to June and the short rains from September to December. The rains are rather erratic and unpredictable, but most rains tend to fall in April and November. The average recorded temperature is 27.5’c to 34.0’c july and August are hottest months.

Other wild life that can easily be found at the park are topi, bush buck, common duiker, oribi, Defassa water buck and  reed buck, while the lake and lush fringing vegetation support healthy populations of buffalo, warthog, bush-pig, crocodile and hippopotamus. Large herds of the majestic eland also can be seen roaming the park. The sitatunga confines itself to the swampy areas of the park while only two diurnal primates occur in Lake Mburo,  the vervet monkey and olive baboon. Nocturnal calls of the spotted hyena can be heard through the night. Leopard, side-striped jackal and various smaller predators are also present, most visibly are the white-tailed mongoose and three otter species resident in the lakes.

This 1 day lake Mburo tour, starts off with you being picked up by f Gorilla Safaris Uganda Travel driver/guide early in the morning from your hotel/residence in Kampala or Entebbe at 6 am, and we drive to straight to Lake Mburo National park which is a 4 hours trip, water is provided along the way. On arrival at the park, check in into the Park and go on straight away on a game drive to explore the Parks’ savannah environment and see animals like the Rothschild Giraffes, Topis, Warthogs, Buffaloes, Elands, Water bucks, Impalas, Burchell’s and Zebra’s among others. Note: This is among the few places to view zebras in Uganda.

Lunch is not included on the tour cost, After Lunch we embark on a boat ride on lake Mburo along the lake shore. The highlight of your trip will be to view crocodiles and lots of hippos with a variety of birds to see. 
Afterwards, we bid farewell to the parks friendly staff as we depart for Kampala. We drive through magnificent hilly country and lush cultivation on an approximately four-hour journey back to Entebbe, en route we will stop at the Equator for photographs and polar-water experiment, then briefly visit a local community popular for making local drums (Mpabire Village), gardens, crafts shops and fruit markets. We driver back to Kampala and Entebbe Airport, to end our 1 day lake Mburo tour.
