Day 2: Go for Gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes National Park Rwanda in search for Gorillas in the mist and Golden Monkeys

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing before embarking on the gorilla trek in the light forest on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains. It usually takes 2-6 hours to encounter the mountain gorillas, but the moment you lay eyes on them, all the fatigue and hustles are forgotten. Remember to maintain a distance of at least 6 meters from the mountain gorillas to avoid disease transmission.

To protect the mountain gorillas, the park limits the number of visitors per day, allowing only 8 people to visit each gorilla family group. There are a total of 10 gorilla families that are habituated to human presence. After the gorilla trek, you can climb the Visoke volcano, track the golden monkeys or visit the Karisoke Research Centre, which Dian Fossey, the famous primatologist, set up to protect the endangered mountain gorillas. You can also explore the nearby local villages.
